If there's one thing thats not, whatsoever, glamorous its a stay-at-home mom to an almost one year old. Spit up, poopy diapers, food strewn about, boogers galore, drool...I could go on. So for this brief window of time in the early winter I get to escape from all that and spend a couple hours focused on the "beautiful people" in the beautiful designer gowns. Honestly most of me could care less about who gets what award....I don't have time to watch every movie and tv show thats nominated, I just care about the fashion! And imagine one day I'll wear a gown half as gorgeous as the ones on the red carpet (HA yeah right!).
Every year I do a fashion favorites list, and I'm being to realize I feature most of the same people each year, I guess I just relate to these ladies fashion sense the most.
So lets get started!
The first one I'd like to mention was my favorite of the evening;
1. Emma Stone in a Lavin jumpsuit:
This outfit was a little out of the box but since its not the Oscars its okay to go a tad bit casual. I would love to wear this jumpsuit on a daily basis. The metallic bodice, the perfect crease down the centre of each pant leg, and the amazing belt bow/train combo. She rocked it. Her hair looked fantastic, makeup flawless and she's super hilarious so good on her.
2. Diane Kruger in a silver Emilia Wickstead gown:
This lady knows fashion, she could look stunning in a brown paper bag. I adored this form fitting metallic gown and I especially loved the open back. Her earrings, bracelet and clutch fit perfectly with her look. The neutral makeup and fresh old hollywood glam hair accentuated her natural beauty.
3. Naomi Watts in Gucci:
There was quite a few bright yellow gowns on the carpet this year but my favorite of the evening was Namoi Watts in Gucci. A sweet straight line strapless gown with an embellished belt on the waist. I actually loved her diamond snake chocker necklace and naturally styled hair and bright lips.
4. Reese Witherspoon in Calvin Klein:
Along with many other celebrities Reese chose to go with a neutral metallic form fitting gown. With the side swept hair and the chunky bracelet this Hollywood mom radiated cool composure in this stunning gown. I believe she was also nominated for an award so thats fun.
5. Chrissy Teigen in Zuhair Murad:
I adored this look. The simple messy ponytail, and neutral dewy makeup. And this gown! Zuhair Murad also does wonders with lace, cut outs and embellishments and this gown is no exception. It fits her like a glove and she was glowing next to her husband on the red carpet.
So there you have it, my favorites from this years Golden Globe awards. Usually I do more but I did feel a little underwhelmed with the fashion this year, saw a lot of the same colours and styles. I do have high hopes for the Oscars next month. I might do a quick Peoples Choice Awards fashion favorites as well.
Let me know what your favorites were as well! I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Until next time!
